  • REGISTRY: Truth be told, I’m not big on registries… but in the spirit of being a more humble gift receiver…. here’s my idea…

I think it would be amazing if everyone that wanted to bring a gift, brought an OUTDOOR plant/bush/herb/shrub/tree. The notion is that this form of giving would be one that will continue to give to the house that we are celebrating. Your gift will grow and continually shape the vision of growahouse… forming an interesting landscaping mix that is as diverse as the people that have helped, are helping, and will help this journey.

EDUCATION: Choosing a plant that will sustain will require an understanding of Washington’s growing climate Hardiness Zone: 7 [So remember this if you are traveling and plan on going online to get your greenery]
  • FOOD: The debate is still on as to the “Main Event” but we plan on cooking and relaxing all day, so Come and Eat OR Bring Food or Come and Drink or all of the above!
[I dunno?… maybe you feel like reciting poetry in the courtyard and then maybe take a nap under the Oak Tree… it’s your world]

  • Thanks to kob from dcblogs.com for noting Growahouse on their website (November 3, 2005 : Blog House). DCBLOGS is a site which highlights blogs in the DC area with the intent to help draw attention to bloggers who tell us something about the place and times we live in.
  • Owner of a house needing a substantial rehab is blogging about his efforts, and there’s a lot involved. This is a very good blog. Click on the blog’s gallery photo link for an idea of the scope of work. But this post, the most recent, is a thoughtful look at how neighbors interact.
